Installation & troubleshooting notes

The first step in installation process is locating the driver file.

  1. Check the model of your printer. If it hasn’t already been done, connect the printer to the computer. On some computers this will prompt the printer utility tool.
  2. If the printer is already connected to the computer and you are not prompted to add drivers, manually download and add the driver using the computer settings.

Manual installation of printer drivers on a windows computer can be done from any computer with administrator permissions.

  1. Click on the printer icon within the settings to launch the utility. It will locate printer drivers and save them to the correct drives on the computer.
  2. If the printer utility cannot locate the drivers, select ‘have disk’ and install it from the location you saved it in.

On a Mac computer the file must be unpacked then mounted.  Then go to the print center to locate your new printer on the list. If it is not on the list, click the Alt +Add to have it appear on the list. If it is already on the list, remove it and re-add it to the list.
